General Price List

(These prices are effective as of November 30, 2007)

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff (non-declinable) - $1025 
24-Hour availability of personnel, arrangement interview, coordination of services, posting of obituary notices, obtaining and recording authorizations and permits as necessary.

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select (this fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains).

Optional Services of Funeral Director and Staff

Supervision of visitation (per 2 hrs.) - $400
(This charge is for staff and supervision - the facility may charge a rental fee)

Supervision of funeral ceremony - $500

Supervision of cremation ceremony - $500

Supervision of graveside service or memorial service - $250

Shipment of cremated remains (certified mail) - $75

PREPARATION OF REMAINS

Embalming - $590
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Preparation Other Than Embalming

Dressing, disinfecting, cosmetizing, casketing - $190

CREMATION

Cremation is a mode of disposition for human remains that involves reducing the remains to the base elements through a process of heat and evaporation(for a more complete description of the cremation process, please see our Cremation Authorization form). This is done not as an end in itself, but to prepare the remains for permanent memorialization. Choosing cremation does not preclude having a viewing or funeral ceremony beforehand, if that is desired.

Transfer of remains within 20 miles of Frederick - $250
(Add $2.50 per mile, over 20 miles, one way)

Additional charge for transfer from outside Maryland - $200

Ground transportation to common carrier - $185

Limousine Rental - $350
($75 per ½ hour, over 3 hrs.)

Hearse Rental - $285
($50 per ½ hour, over 3 hrs.)

Motorcycle - $75
(Add $2 per mile, over 20 miles, one way)

OTHER SERVICES

Transfer to Crematory with Basic Services provided - $1050
For individuals who have pre-arranged the cremation process with a third-party crematory, and simply need transportation to the crematory and the basic services of the funeral director, such as obtaining a signed death certificate, appropriate authorizations, and posting of obituary notices as requested . This charge does not include certified copies of the death certificate, for which the Division of Vital Records has a fee, nor does it include the cost of obituary or death notices, for which most newspapers have a set rate. Additional charges may apply for transfer from outside of Maryland.

Receiving remains from another funeral home - $1150
This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, transfer from the common carrier, and transportation to the place of final disposition. (Add $2.50 per mile over 40 miles, one way)

Forwarding of remains to another funeral home - $2050
This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, transfer of the remains, embalming, and local ground transportation to common carrier. A shipping container (not a casket) is included in this charge. This charge does not include any staff or facilities for viewing or for conducting a funeral ceremony prior to forwarding of the remains, any merchandise other than the shipping container, or shipping charges. (Add $2.50 per mile, over 40 miles, one way)

Immediate Burial - Price Range $1750 - $11982
This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, transfer of the remains, disinfecting, dressing and casketing, and transportation to the cemetery. It does not include facilities or staff for viewing or funeral service, cemetery charges, or any merchandise.
Immediate burial with casket provided by purchaser - $1750

Direct Cremation - Price Range $1625 - $3567
This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, transfer of the remains to the crematory, and cremation. It does not include any preparation of the remains, use of facilities for visitation or funeral ceremony, medical examiner's permits, or merchandise. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are reinforced cardboard or unfinished wood. The crematory does not permit the use of containers for cremation that are made of canvas, rubber, fiberglass, or metal. An additional charge of $50 is required for a Medical Examiner's permit for cremation if death occurs in Virginia or the District of Columbia, and $25 in West Virginia or Pennsylvania.

Arranging and Supervision of Disinterment (Maryland only) - $5000
This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, obtaining approval from the County State's Attorney's Office and disinterment application from the County Health Department, and arranging the date and time of the disinterment with the originating cemetery, destination cemetery, and vault company. This does not include charges from either cemetery for the disinterment or re-interment processes, nor does it include transportation charges from the vault company, or any additional merchandise (such as a new vault or other container) that may be required at the time of disinterment.
